Kikaua Point Park
This location is north of the Kona airport ~ 10 minutes and just south of the Four Seasons. Access is through a private community and results in much less people
There's beautiful beaches, lava rock, some greenery with trees and incredible sunsets.
Cons:
-Parking is limited and very rarely (but possible) does fill up and plan B is going to Kukio beach - see option 2.
-Only ‘normal’ size vehicles are allowed - no type of oversized vehicles
Kukio Beach
Accessed through the Four Seasons Hulalali ~ 15 minutes north of the Kona airport.
A large stretch of beautiful beach and coastline - tons of sand and incredible sunsets (much less rocky)
- perfect for large groups
- parking is never an issue
Con: the walk is ‘uneven’ and through the beach, the sand is not packed down (note if anyone in the party has physical limitations)
